ORIGINS
Our Story
This is how we began. This is how we were inspired.
After running the Boston Marathon for charity the year that it was bombed and finishing 15 minutes before the bombs went off...Megan knew that she would have to go back and qualify to truly experience this race for what it is... for the heart, for the joy, and for the people that lost their lives. The night before her qualifying race, one of her best friends who traveled with her to support her, challenged Megan to think of 26 words, phrases, names or things to dedicate every single mile to. The morning of the race, her friend - Tamara - wrote in Sharpie up and down Megan's arm. With every mile Megan looked down to see who or what she was running for...it transformed the race and made it MEAN SOMETHING - it became MORE THAN MILES. Megan chose to write things from names of friends to her dog to her dreams... and because she knew miles 22-26 would be the hardest, she dedicated those 4 miles to each of the people who lost their lives in the Boston bombing. From that experience was born Inspotats and #RunMoreThanMiles...so that every runner can be reminded of their WHY with each step.
